Cheap, but Good Printer?

I received a nice email from Gabby and she posed this question that I am hoping someone can help out.

"I would like to ask your advice on a good printer not too expensive, the one we have was all in one but uses too much ink and it comes out expensive printing out coupons and kids work, what do you suggest? Any coupons?  or good places to buy?"

If you know of a good printer for what she is looking for, please post in the comment section.  Thanks!

  1. I ditched my all-in-one color printer for a black/white laser. My ink costs have gone down significantly. I have the Brother HL-2170W (paid $100 at Office Depot). Brother has a cheaper model, the HL-2140 which doesn't have wireless capabilities (seen it for $50 at Office Depot). Hope that helps.

  2. I have the HP Desktop F2430 All in One Printer/Scanner/Copier. I bought it from Walmart.com. I love it! I have had it about 5 months and the ink is still pretty full, and I print out a lot of coupons. The only this is it has to be shipped to your home, you can't buy it in the store and it doesn't come with a usb cord.

  4. We recently got an all-in-one printer from Sam's club for about $86. I can't praise it's reliablilty enough - it's the best printer we have had and its wireless feature makes it super easy to print coupons from all 4 of our computers :D

The only drawback is that I can't leave a print job hanging (like when I KNOW it's out of paper, but I send my coupons.com print job anyway - it will time-out the job after a given amount of time (1 hour??)... my old one would keep the job in que indefinately.

Originally we were going to get a laser, but this one boasted that it was same price per print and had better features. It's pretty good on ink, and hp sells an XL black cartridge for it too. (HP 901 black and HP 901 color)

    Its the Officejet J4680.

  6. this is what we have:

right now, it's pretty spendy. we put it in our cart and one day, poof! it was down to $85. Love it and all three of our printers print to it, which means triple the coupons!

  7. I have a side question - how do you print coupons from home using more than one computer. I tried, but received message- you've already printed. We have cable internet, and notebook is connected wireless to the same account as PC. Any suggestions?
It's hard for me to have two computers and print everything only once...

  8. I got tired of all the ink being used by printing coupons so also switched to a laser printer. We found this one:

It was on sale at Best Buy for $99. It doesn't seem to be right now but I've noticed it on sale several times since Christmas. I've printed tons of coupons and haven't had to replace the ink yet. I know a new cartridge is about $70 but it prints at least 1500 pages before it runs out.

  9. You can print off the same amount of coupons from each computer. Each computer has their own "IP address". I have 3 computers in my house and we can print off the same number of coupons from each computer. You don't need a separate printer for each.
