Minneapolis Star Tribune paper

Wow...I am not very happy with them right now. The paper on Sat was suppose to have two inserts and there was only one. Today I went to the Dollar Tree to get papers for $1 and they didn't have inserts in theirs either. :( I then headed over to CVS and Walgreens and their papers didn't have any in there. WOW...you can bet that they will get a phone call from me in the morning. They advertised up to $157 in coupon savings.

  1. I thought it was just the 2 papers I got at cub foods.

  3. I got the inserts in my delivered paper or I would of called them ASAP. The time that I wasted on Sat and Sun looking for the SS insert was just plain dumb.

  4. I got both inserts from buying them on saturday. I also got an extra special insert on the home delivery one on sunday. It was an insert with only target coupons.

  5. I always check the papers before I pick them up and one only had one insert and the other had two. So, I left the one, and bought a PP instead, not as good a coupons, but not worth paying for one without inserts. I will stop tomorrow on the way to work and pick up the leftover inserts from the gas station near our house where I bought the papers and see how many others are missing them.

  6. It seems like the people in the southern burbs got both inserts. Up in the northern burbs, we were not so lucky it seems.

  7. I tried to call the Star Trib yesterday but got the run around and lost in their menus so I gave up. I too bought 2 newspapers on Saturday trusting they would be in there (there was just a RP), and another on Sunday at WAG, it had nothing. Youre right, they can't say they have $157 in coupons and then not (I'm at work now, did the Saturday paper say it had $157 in coupons, too?). I'm going to try calling them again today. Might just be more of a waste of time, tho.

  8. Well, I called the circulation desk and he admitted that they ran out and there is nothing they can do, that they are going to make every effort to make sure the coupon inserts will be in the paper next week. Do you think we will get anywhere if we all call and complain? This is the phone number to the Star Trib circulation dept. 612-673-4343. I even stated that the paper says it has over $157 in savings inside, nothing.

  9. Yes, the Sunday paper said that there was up to $157 in coupons.

Thanks Pam for the number. Calling them now.

  10. Pam...I called them during my break at work and told them how disappointed I was in what was advertised and what was in the papers. I was nice and polite, of course, but made sure that they wasted my time and many others looking for Sunday papers.

She ended up extending my subscription by a month, which isn't that huge as I only pay .50 a Sunday paper.

  11. You know, thanks to us couponers, we have to be generating a decent amount of revenue for the Star Trib by buying their paper. Hopefully this doesn't happen very often, and hopefully they understand how this makes us feel. Thanks Karen and everyone else for voicing your opinion to them! It's all we can do. Maybe it was in part from starting the Early Sunday paper with inserts on Saturday, even tho some of them were missing, too. Oh well. I decided not to make a special trip Monday morning to hunt for more.

  12. I called the Star Tribune this morning. They gave the run around so I asked to speak with a supervisor "locally". There call center is in Texas. The number I was given took me directly to a person! They heard me out about the coupon issues and are sending me a refund check for the 10 papers I got with only Red Plums in them. She told me also that there was a problem and they ran out of coupon booklets so they sent them out without them. I stopped to pick up my Mother-in-laws paper (she's out of town) and I figured out their problem...she had 18 Smart Sources in her paper! I couldn't believe it! Life has a way of working out!

  13. OMG Jennifer! 18 Smart Sources?!? I have heard that another person got 8 in their paper! Good for you for getting a refund on the papers that you bought and congrats on finding 18 SS!
